Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences
METU International Relations examines relations between states, global politics, and diplomacy, and is part of the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences. Courses such as international political theory, diplomatic history, international law, and regional studies form the foundation of the curriculum.
The department requires extensive reading, discussion, and written analysis — bringing together current world issues with theoretical frameworks and interpreting them is at the core of the curriculum. A significant portion of courses are taught in English, giving graduates a strong foreign language foundation.
Graduates can work at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, international organizations (such as the UN or EU institutions), non-governmental organizations, journalism/media, or in academia.
