METU Global Politics and International Relations

Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences

METU Global Politics and International Relations is similar to the International Relations department but focuses more on global governance, international organizations, and global political dynamics, and is part of the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences. Courses such as global governance, international organizations, global security, and development studies form the foundation of the curriculum.

The department offers a broader, interdisciplinary perspective compared to International Relations, bringing together political science with economics, law, and sociology. Most courses are taught in English.

Graduates can work at international organizations (such as the UN, EU, or World Bank), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, international non-governmental organizations, consulting firms, or in academia.

Anyone choosing this department should have a genuine curiosity about global issues and international relations, an interest in English, and be open to interdisciplinary thinking.
