METU Industrial Engineering is a mathematics- and decision-analysis-focused engineering department centered on optimizing production and service systems. Courses such as operations research, probability and statistics, production planning, and supply chain management form the foundation of the curriculum. Rather than producing a physical product, industrial engineers use mathematical models to determine how systems can run more efficiently, at lower cost, and faster.
The department combines the analytical side of engineering with practical business problems — which is why graduates are sought not only in factory/production settings, but also across a wide range of sectors such as banking, consulting, logistics, and e-commerce.
