METU Environmental Engineering is a department focused on both engineering and environmental sciences, dealing with topics such as preventing water, air, and soil pollution, waste management, and the design of drinking water and wastewater treatment systems. Alongside basic science courses like chemistry, microbiology, and hydraulics, applied courses such as treatment plant design and environmental impact assessment form an important part of the curriculum.
The department combines lab work (water/air/soil analysis) with field visits (treatment plants, solid waste sites).
