Unlike departments that require less study time, Electrical-Electronics Engineering at METU is quite demanding, and someone who doesnt love it may not be able to endure this much work just because the salary is good. At the same time, someone entering this department needs to be very organized and disciplined — otherwise the department can turn into an absolute nightmare.
Students in the department tend to form close-knit groups, and you may find yourself constantly hanging out with the same group. There is also a strange competition over GPA, and dropping below 3.00 can genuinely put you in a slump. Even if you considered yourself hardworking in high school, everyone here is better than you.
