Mechanical Engineering is a department found at most universities. As one of the core engineering fields alongside Civil, Chemical, and Electrical Engineering, METU Mechanical Engineering is a program you should definitely consider if engineering is on your list of preferences. Intermediate engineering fields matter too, of course, but these core engineering disciplines are essentially the same everywhere in the world, and your diploma and title carry recognized weight wherever you go. Thanks to their signing authority, mechanical engineers are indispensable across construction firms, industry, design, and defense, among many other sectors. That said, as we always say, dont choose a department just because youre impressed by these career prospects if you wont actually enjoy studying it. If you love teaching, consider education; if you love management, consider business or law instead.
